Wildfire Safety in Provence: Protecting Mont Ventoux During Your Stay

During the summer months, Provence experiences periods of hot, dry weather and strong winds that significantly increase the risk of wildfires.

A single careless moment can have devastating consequences. We kindly ask all our guests to help protect the beautiful landscapes surrounding your holiday home by following a few simple precautions.

Using a charcoal barbecue

If your property is equipped with a charcoal barbecue, please follow these safety guidelines:

  • Never light the barbecue if it is windy, even in light winds.
  • Keep a garden hose or a bucket of water nearby while the barbecue is in use.
  • Thoroughly soak the embers with water once you have finished cooking.
  • Wait at least 24 hours before disposing of the ashes and make sure they are completely cold.

Access to forest areas

Access to forests and woodland is regulated daily according to weather conditions and wildfire risk.

Before going hiking, trail running, mountain biking or walking in nature, please check the official daily access map:

Please remain on public roads and in authorised areas only.
