The Four Seasons...

When we think of Provence, we immediately think of cicadas, lavender, pétanque, siestas and Pastis. We imagine ourselves lazing by the pool under the blazing sun...  But life is good all year round in southern France, and the region's charms are not just reserved for summer!

Slow Provence invites you to discover the Vaucluse throughout the seasons...

The Vaucluse in spring

From the end of February/beginning of March, the first almond tree blossoms announce the arrival of warmer weather in Provence. Soon after come the first asparagus, punnets of Carpentras strawberries, poppy fields and cherry orchards in bloom... Springtime in Provence is a carnival of dazzling colours, intoxicating scents and delicate flavours...

A summer in Provence

Under a blazing sun and in an oppressive heat, imagine peaceful afternoons spent lazing by the pool, listening to the cicadas, imagine pétanque matches accompanied by a glass of rosé or pastis... Your senses numbed by the heat, you give in to laziness... The pace slows down, time is drawn out...

Autumn in Provence

After the summer peak season, Provence becomes calm and serene in September... In mild, sunny weather, it is harvest season and the perfect time for beautiful forest walks to admire the vibrant colours of Autumn.

In the winter

Winters in Provence are fine but cold. It is the season of the truffle, of nativity scenes with the famous "santons" of Provence, and of enduring Christmas traditions.
