Villes sur Auzon
Of the village’s old fortifications, only the Grand Portail remains, dating from the 18th century and forming one of the modern-day entrances to the centre. The ramparts have been replaced by a row of terraced houses which give Ville-sur-Auzon its circular layout. It’s easy to fall under the spell of its small shops and labyrinth of streets, its fountains and large plane trees, which lend the place a genuine Roman feel.
The Jazz Festival
Since 2005, Ville-sur-Auzon has hosted an annual jazz festival at the end of July, where prestigious artists come to play beneath its plane trees. To make this musical genre accessible to as many people as possible, most of the concerts are held outdoors and are free to attend. This is a chance to see the village in celebratory mode, and to get involved in the buzz of local life in Provence.
The winery at Ville-sur-Auzon offers daily tastings of AOC Ventoux wines, produced using biodynamic methods.
You can even enjoy an electric bike tour through the vineyard, organised every Tuesday and departing from the winery (booking compulsory). The visit includes a gourmet rest stop, with tastings of local wine and produce.
