Blauvac

Blauvac

Blauvac is a charming little Provencal village dominating from the top of a hill a vast expanse of vineyards and fields of cherry trees. By climbing the streets of the village we come across beautiful views of the nature of the Mont Ventoux biosphere reserve of which it is a part.

The village

Visitors to Blauvac will enjoy the uphill walk along its streets to discover the breathtaking view awaiting at the top. If you venture to the far end of the village, you will stumble across the modest medieval stone château from the 13th century, with its rounded turrets, now serving as a private residence.

The Abbey of Notre-Dame de Bon secours

This Cistercian abbey and its community of wafer-making nuns welcome women who wish to undertake a religious retreat. Take the opportunity to visit the shop where you can purchase handmade products from food to baby textiles.

Notre-Dame des Neiges

This little chapel, built on the site of a Celtic-Ligurian oppidum (fortified town), bears witness to a long-standing human presence, with the remains of a Paleochristian church.

To fill antiques fairs of the 18th century, archaeological excavations were commissioned on the site, revealing many objects such as fragments of pottery, lamps and incineration tombs, signs of a past presence.

“La Calade” Restaurant

With its superb panoramic view, this is the perfect spot to enjoy some tasty dishes, or simply to quench your thirst with its large selection of cocktails.

Events and concerts are also held from time to time!
